Basuki Secondary School

Basuki Secondary School is located in Mahalaxmi Municipality – 10, Lalitpur district which is 20 km away from central Kathmandu. The school has 325 students from nursery to grade 10 with 16 academic staffs.

As a part of our “Post Earthquake Reconstruction/Renovation Project of Schools 2015/16”, we have signed a MoU with Basuki Secondary School, Mahalaxmi Municipality – 10, Lalitpur district on June 19, 2017 to reconstruct/renovate construction of four rooms of the school building. This program is financially supported by Bildungsförderung Nepal e.V., Germany and Ami Corp, Newzealand. The project is expected to be completed by 16 October 2017.

This is the final (21 and 22) school of 22 schools that is receiving our support in its effort to get back on its feet from the effect of earthquake. Second phase of our project will commence soon.

Introduction:

Basuki Secondary School is located in Mahalaxmi Municipality – 10, Lalitpur district which is 20 km away from central Kathmandu. The school has 325 students from nursery to grade 10 with 16 academic staffs.

The school is reputed for its quality education in the locality. The school management committee, community people and the administration team are working collectively for the betterment of the school. But the massive earthquake of April 25 led it to suffer from insufficiency of classrooms and sound environment to provide the quality education.

Need:

The school is running its classes in temporary blocks only as its one of the school buildings is in the verge of reconstruction. Since it lacks adequate classrooms it requested us to build four rooms (two truss buildings).Top of Form

 

Solution:

We are supporting the school to add four rooms to help the school conduct classes there.
